Amy Lou Adams Amy Lou Adams (born on August 20th, 1974 in Aviano, Italy). American actress. Known for playing naive charming characters. Adams was born and was raised in Castle Rock Colorado, as the youngest of seven children. Her father served in U.S. service in Italy. At the end of the 1990s, she started to act and dance professionally in Boulder's Dinner Theatre and Country Dinner Playhouse. When she moved to Minnesota and appearing in an undocumentary-style film called Drop Dead Gorgeous (1998) which focused on beauty contests. In Los Angeles, she pursued acting as a profession following her film debut, in which she played an uneasy but fun contestant. She was the wife of the actor Tony Curtis from June 1951 to September 1962 and her mother to Kelly Curtis and Jamie Lee Curtis. Leigh's career in film began in the mid- 1940s, after she was hired by MGM. She had been noticed by Norma shearer. She appeared in a range of films that became popular over the following decade, such as Alfred Hitchcock's Psycho (from 1960) as well as Living It Up (1954) which starred Martin Lewis.
