Zazie Olivia Beetz was born on January 1st, the 1st of January, 1991 Berlin. Her father was an German cabinet maker who emigrated into the United States after the Fall of the Berlin Wall in 1990, is also her mother, a South African American social worker. Jennifer Aniston is also a graduate of the same highschool. Beetz attended Skidmore College to study French following her graduation from LaGuardia. After graduating from college, Beetz immediately began auditioning and was offered the role as Van at Atlanta. She was born in Berlin to the parents of a German father as well as an African-American mom, Beetz was raised within New York speaking both German as well as English at home. In community theaters as well as local stages since the age of five, Zazie found her joy at the age of six and went on to grow to become an actor. Zendaya landed the Disney Channel breakout role thanks to Zendaya's impressive dance abilities. In 2010, the actor and dancer was finally offered her breakthrough role when she was cast in the role of Rocky Blue in the show "Shake it Up," alongside co-star Bella Thorne. Zendaya began her vegetarian journey aged 11 when she came across a slaughterhouse during an excursion with her father. She tells PEOPLE, "I thought it was horrible, seeing all the animals getting packed up inside the slaughterhouse, waiting to be killed. The fact that this was the way I got my food was shocking to me. Since then, she's stuck on a plant-based, vegan diet.
